Quiet & Sensory Pool

 

 

Ages: Phase 3 (3-1/2 to 5-1/2 months) through Phase 6 (14 to 24 months)

Materials: small wading pool (hard plastic), washable pillows, cardboard books, simple "quiet" toys

How to make: Just put pillows and books in pool.  The pool can be used to separate mobile and non-mobile babies.  Adults can get in the pool with the babies if necessary.

Activity: A quiet space within a larger room.

Variations: Fill the pool with dry oatmeal and use as a sensory table, fill the pool with corn starch-based packing peanuts, fill the pool with plastic lids.
