Play Dough

Ingredients: 1 cup flour, 1/2 cup salt, 1 cup water, 1 tablespoon vegetable oil, 2 teaspoons cream of tartar, 1 teaspoon powdered alum, food coloring (optional)

Mix the above ingredients. Heat and stir. Mixture will begin to form a ball and look like mashed potatoes. Remove from heat and wrap in wax paper. Color can be added before or after cooking.

Comments: I always find cooked play dough superior to the non-cook methods.
